                                   Emulating Christ at Christmas

President Ezra Taft Benson said "Without Christ there would be no Christmas, and without Christ there would be no fullness of Joy. It is my testimony that the babe of Bethlehem, Jesus the Christ, is
the one perfect Guide, the one perfect Example. Only by emulating Him and adhering to His eternal truth can we realize peace on earth and good will toward all."

If we look to the world this season we will find a commercialized holiday. A holiday which can induce raw emotion, stress, anxiety, feelings of inadequacy, depression etc. It is unfortunate that so many lose sight of Christ during the Christmas season.
As we enter this Christmas season let us all focus on Christ and in turn focus our efforts on emulating his perfect life.
To emulate Christ we must follow the virtues of the Savior's character as outlined by Peter:
"Giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue: and to virtue knowledge; and to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience and to patience godliness; and to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness; charity."
Emulating Christ takes commitment and action on our part. That is action we can control! Rather than focusing on outside influences which can cause negative feelings or behaviors, let us look to the Savior's pure example and commit to living  life modeled after His. In doing so we will be more patient, kind and charitable this Christmas.
